RUN
RUN`s goal is to provide victims who may be controlled by an abusive partner with a way to access online resources, live support and emergency services. RUN`s Audience - people experiencing Intimate Partner Violence and their concerned families and friends.
My challenge: create a safe and secure way for the end-user to take advantage of informational resources without the danger of being detected.
I conducted user research, gaining insights into the behaviors and motivations of end-users. Created wireframes and prototypes, illustrating complex interactions. Designed low- and high-fidelity mock-ups, incorporating solutions for interaction design. Wrote usability testing questions, facilitated testing with prospective users.
As a result of thorough research, brainstorming, multiple iterations, and empathy for the user I came up with a concept of “app within an app” - main content is well hidden under the mask of workout app, run tracker specifically targeted for females. I called it RUN, a small but powerful, “call-to-action” word, which sends clear hint to victims and will not make the abuser suspicious.
