SAMPLE ADMINISTRATOR CASE STUDY

The Portal Application is a comprehensive data management platform designed to streamline benefit calculation and evaluation processes through a suite of robust tools. One key component of the Portal Application is the Sample Administrator tool.
Before Redesign
Prior to the redesign, Sample Administrator was a standalone tool with an outdated interface and a non-intuitive user experience. Its design lacked consistency with the rest of the Portal Application and was not user-friendly.
Project Goal
The primary objective of the project was to integrate Sample Administrator into the Portal Application, modernize its interface, and create a seamless, user-friendly experience aligned with the Portal's overall design language.

Redesign Process
The redesign focused on improving the Sample creation workflow within the Sample Administrator tool.
User Testing and Feedback
The updated design was implemented and subjected to end-user testing. While the redesign received positive feedback, User Acceptance Testing revealed an area for improvement:

Analysts often have multiple items in the table, and therefore to work with the data in the tabs below the table, users must scroll down the page, potentially losing sight of the highlighted row in the table above.
Addressing User Feedback
To address the feedback received during user testing, the team collaboratively decided to place the table within a collapsible element.
When a user clicks on a row in the table, the drawer collapses, and the data from the selected row appears in a ribbon above the tabs.
This solution enables users to view and interact with the data in the tabs without the need to scroll down the page.
